Planting trees at schools located in disadvantaged urban areas in southern California

 

 

PROJECT: Planting Trees at Schools in Disadvantaged Urban Areas

 

FFI funded Tree People with $2,000.00 to work with students and teachers to plant trees at schools located in disadvantaged urban areas in southern California where there are few trees. First grant in 2007 benefited Rosecrans Elementary School & Centennial High School in Compton. 2008 grant benefitted Fullbright Avenue Elementary School in Canoga Park and Sherman Oaks Center for Enriched Studies. Asphalt was ripped up and replaced with trees.
